What is FinHacks?

FinHacks is a FinTech hackathon organized by Toronto Youth Network and Target Alpha for students interested in finance, computer science, design, and related fields. Join us on November 30th at the Centre for Social Innovation's Spadina Lounge (192 Spadina Avenue) to build something using the latest technologies. You'll have the opportunity to listen to engaging speakers and develop software for financial applications in a fun and competitive learning environment. This hackathon is open to all high school and university students. No previous knowledge or experience is required!

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I start working on my hack before the event?

No, students should not be working on their projects before FinHacks and we do not allow participants to work on pre-existing projects.

When and where is FinHacks?

FinHacks is on Saturday November 30, 2019 from 9am to 5 pm at the Centre for Social Innovation- Spadina Lounge.

Who can participate?

Any high school or university student can participate.

How many people can be on a team?

A maximum of 4 people can be on a team.

What if I've never been to a hackathon before?

FinHacks welcomes students of all skill levels and hackathons are great place to learn new skills in a short amount of time.

What should I bring?

We recommend bringing your laptop, chargers, and student ID.

Shrey Jain

Shrey Jain is an undergraduate student at the University of Toronto in the Engineering Science program with a major in machine intelligence. Shrey is currently the Vice President for the University of Toronto Machine Intelligence Team. In high school, Shrey interned as a data analyst and continues to focus his personal projects related to sports analytics/machine learning. He is also currently in training for the Ironman70.3 next year!
